How to use the tool
- Choose the source type and citation style.
- Enter the metadata or import a record.
- Review warnings and correct the metadata.
- Copy the result or download the bibliography.
What happens to your data?
The form, source list, validation, and formatting run in the browser. A project is stored in IndexedDB only after you choose “Save locally.” A request to Crossref, DataCite, or Open Library is made only after an explicit lookup action and contains only the identifier you entered.
Limitations
- The generator can only format the metadata it receives.
- Automatically retrieved metadata may contain errors.
- Institution-specific variants may differ from a general style.
- Legal and AI materials require particularly careful review.
Important: before submitting your work, compare the result with the current rules of your institution, journal, or publisher.
FAQ
Do I need an account?
No. All core functions work without an account.
Is my bibliography uploaded?
Not to a Podziel.pl server. External lookup sends only the DOI or ISBN after you click the lookup button.
Can I change the style of the entire project?
Yes. The source data stays unchanged while the CSL processor generates a new bibliography format.
